Are you prepared for the holiday shopping season? Like it or not, it’s here.
One interesting development has taken place since the last time: Cyber Monday has beaten out Black Friday as the most popular shopping holiday, according to a recent online survey conducted by IPSOS Public Affairs on behalf of Offers.com.
The survey found that 94% Americans are shopping online, while mobile holiday shopping is up over 43% from 2014 (44% vs. 63% who plan to use their mobile in 2016).
Maybe people got sick of waiting on long lines for “door buster” deals?
The visceral thrill of muscling out other shoppers to get a stack of ridiculously discounted merch has been replaced by the one-click convenience of online buying.
After all, stores run out of the really good stuff fast on Black Friday. The whole thing has become a bit of a scam.
Long live Cyber Monday.
