With the holiday season drawing near, many people are planning to greet guests with the soothing aroma of scented wax. That’s why the latest recall announced by The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is so important.
It seems that around 32,000 wax warmers sold at Family Dollar stores are being recalled due to a risk of fire.
These ceramic wax warmer sets include four vanilla-scented wax cubes for melting and a teacup-shaped ceramic warmer with an opening to insert a tea light candle. The ceramic warmers were colored cream with gold trim, and green with gold trim.
They were sold at Family Dollar stores from April 2015 through September 2015, for $4.
According to CPSC, Family Dollar has received 11 reports of the warmers producing high flames, including two reports of burn injuries and three reports of property damage.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled wax warmers and return them to any Family Dollar store location for a full refund, CPSC said in a statement.
If you think you might have one of these units, either bring it in to a Family Dollar store, or find out more by calling 800-547-0359 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
